CreditCards.com
Role: Art Direction, UI/UX
Goal: Create a new user experience to help my company compete with the “big boys”.
Duration: 3 months
“When I came to CreditCards.com, my first task was a full redesign of the homepage and card-finder pages. This would set the stage for their new product ‘My Credit Cards’—a one-stop shop for managing your credit score. Click the button below for a glimpse of what the site looked like before I got my hands on it.”
“Once competitive research was done, we started to see where CreditCards.com could add real value in the space. Goals were defined, use-cases were created, and whiteboarding had begun. Since the financial space is fraught with strict regulations, something as simple as a sign up flow became extremely complex.”
“Making the signed-in version of the site feel like its own unique experience was a challenge in itself. I decided to use a brighter palette that could compliment the darker hues of the website.”
“UI guidelines were established early on to ensure a smooth development process. I created a series of ‘cheat-sheet’ style guides that front-end developers could reference any time.”
“Prototypes were built out and tested through remote observation testing. Feedback was implemented on a bi-weekly basis through developer sprints. During this time CreditCards.com was operating in an Agile environment.”
“While working on this project, CreditCards.com was acquired, and my work on the project was halted. However, the experienced I gained, especially so early in my career, proved to be invaluable.”
